One of the less known facts about the motorbike riding community is the phenomenal number of charity rides it organises. Practically every weekend there’s charity rides somewhere in Australia. Riders get together and raise funds for good causes. From cancer research to mental health support, assisting the homeless, supporting families of fallen riders, memorial rides, and more. An endless number of good causes, in which thousands of motorbike riders take part.

One of these charity rides is the Annual Onesie Ride for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This fantastic event, which is organised by Robert Dvy and Gavin Young, attracts hundreds of riders every year for 7 years now. Not just hundreds of riders, but hundreds of onesie wearing riders. An absolute spectacular sight! Hundreds of different onesies, hundreds of different riders, hundreds of different bikes.

Over 300 bikes took part in the ride last night, which started in Five Dock, went through Drummoyne, The Rocks, Woolloomooloo, and ended in a group photo in Bondi Beach. The organisers were hoping to collect $4000 for the foundation, but they are not there yet… You can assist by donating here.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation have been brightening the lives of seriously ill kids and their families in Australia for over 30 years. What they do is amazing and their impact they have on the kids is phenomenal.

Well done Robert and Gavin for this great initiative.

Videos of the riders leaving Five Dock can be found on Facebook here and here.

UPDATE: as of 19/8/2019 the total amount collected is $4315.99 !
Well done!!!

Be safe. Enjoy the ride.
